Everyday Discipleship

Work, money, forgiveness, suffering and witness.

Ordinary life as the arena

Discipleship happens mostly in unglamorous places: how you work, spend, speak, forgive and rest. Scripture treats generosity, honesty, sexual integrity, sabbath rest and care for the poor as spiritual matters, not side issues.

Suffering and hope

Christianity does not promise exemption from suffering; it promises presence within it and resurrection beyond it. Lament is a legitimate form of faith — roughly a third of the Psalms are complaints addressed to God.

Witness

Christians are asked to be ready to explain their hope 'with gentleness and respect'. Witness is less about winning arguments and more about a life that raises questions worth answering.
